Goodwill visit of the UNIST team from Krivoy Rog to the AMICO team from Nikolaev consisted of two games. Players of 50+ age category and more senior participated in the veteran’s contest.

                                                                      The throw-in was executed, the game began.

  On October 19 the first game AMICO-UNIST was held. AMICO started with offensive actions from the first minutes. The first UNIST’s foul was penalized by S.Motsar from AMICO team. A.Petrov, Yu.Lakoshko, A.Berezhinskiy built first period lead to 15 : 10. In this period UNIST’s player Lebed hit 3-pointer. Other seven points were scored by Mozhaev, Krivorotov, Yakubovskiy and Evtushok.

              UNIST won the second period 13 : 10, but didn’t close the gap 23 : 25.

          
  The hosts took control in the second half. The game ended with AMICO’s score of 64 points and UNIST scoring 50 points. AMICO’s top scorers: Berezhinskiy-29 points, Petrov-16 points, Lakoshko-12 points.UNIST’s top scorers: Yakubovskiy-11 points, Holoshenko-10 points, Zelinskiy- 9 points.

               Next day on October 20 the second play was held.

              AMICO’s player-giant S.Smagin took part in this game.

         In the first period Yu.Zhukov scored 2 points, Yu.Lakoshko delivered 5 points (including 3-pointer), S.Smagin and A.Berezhinskiy added 6 and 4 points respectively. AMICO extended the gap to 11-point mark at the interval 17 : 6.  UNIST’s players started thinking how find a way of winning game. The second period passed in equal strife 13:13. AMICO won third quarter 15:11 and afterwards won fourth quarter 12 : 8 that allowed them to seal the victory 57 : 38.

        The two-day tournament was held in the spirit of friendship and rivalry. All participants got not only good game practice, but also warm-hearted communication and experience exchange. Ukrainian veterans discussed their participation in next different basketball championships and tournaments. A. Berezhinskiy (AMICO) was named the tournament’s most outstanding player – 44 points. Other top performing players: A.Petrov (AMICO) – 27 points, V.Yakubovskiy (UNIST) – 24 points.
